Explore the royal cities of Bagan and Mandalay with the many pagodas, temples and monastery complexes. Marvel the life of the indigenous population on the Inle Lake with its floating markets and gardens. This tour will not just show you the amazing country, but also its history and people.
Upon arrival at the airport in Yangon, pickup and transfer to the hotel for check-in. Spend the time till later afternoon at your leisure. Then the guide will pick you up and escorts you for sunset to the good 100 meter high gilded Shwedagon Pagoda. After visiting Myanmar’s most holy place the tour continues to Little India. This district will take you straight to India without living Myanmar. Besides the exotic sights, smells and sound you will visit the photogenic Sri Kali Indian temple. The tour leads to Chinatown with its colorful night market, where you visit the Cantonese Kwan Yin temple. Adjoining is the 19th street, famous for its restaurants. Here you can have a delightful meal before transfer back to the hotel.
Early morning transfer to the airport for a flight to Bagan. Upon arrival at Nyaung U airport, transfer to the hotel and check-in. Then the guide shows you the colourful local market. Visit the Shwezigon Pagoda with its impressive golden chedi. Continue to Wetkyi-In Village and see the remarkable Gubyaukyi Pagoda. Well worth seeing are the frescoes with scenes from the previous lives of the Buddha. Last stop in the morning will be at the fantastic Htilominlo temple.
In the afternoon visit the Ananda Okkyaung and Ananda Temple, masterpieces of Mon architecture. The tour continues to the highest temple in Bagan, the 66m high Thatbyinnyu. The last visiting monument is the most massive brick temple in the region, the Dhammayangyi.
In the late afternoon you head by horse cart to the pier at the Irrawaddy River and board the waiting boat. Enjoy a romantic sunset while gently cruising. Transfer to your hotel.

After breakfast drive to Myinkaba Village, well known for the traditional exquisite lacquer-ware. Watch how these famous artworks are produced. Then visit the nearby Gubyaukkyi temple with its outstanding wall paintings. The Manuha is another masterpiece and one of the oldest temples, dating back to 1059. After transfer back to the hotel.
In the afternoon drive to the outskirts of the Bagan Minnanthu village and visit the Payathonzu complex with its beautiful shrines. The tour continues to the Nandaminnya temple with the fabulous frescoes. Then Bagan’s famous mediation center at Kyet Kan Cave Monastery awaits you. For the end’s day enjoy another fantastic sunset from the Bu Paya Pagoda over the Irrawaddy River. Transfer back to your hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Nyaung U airport for a flight to Mandalay. Upon arrival the guide will show you the old royal capital of Myanmar, Amarapura. Visit the Waso Monastery before heading to Taung Thaman Lake. Admire the 1,200 meter long U Bein Bridge, the world’s longest teak wood bridge. A boat will bring you to the opposite shore with the small idyllic village. Then walk back over the bridge. On the way back to Mandalay stop by a traditional cotton and silk weaving workshop. In town visit the Mahamuni Pagoda, known as the most sacred site in Mandalay. Then you have time to see some local artisan’s workshops. They produce gold leaves, hand-woven embroidery, wood and stone carving, bronze statues and much more.
In the afternoon visit the Golden Palace Monastery with the impressive wood carvings and the Atumashi Monastery. Then you will be shown the world’s largest book at Kuthodaw Pagoda, written on 729 marble slabs. It contains the most holy text from Theravada Buddhism. Late afternoon proceed to the small Mandalay Hill. Enjoy the fabulous view over the area and a romantic sunset.
Pick up in the morning and transfer to the pier. During the following cruise direction Mingun you can observe the daily activities on the river banks. Upon arrival in Mingun visit the whitewashed pagoda of Set Taw Yar with the marble carved footprint of Buddha. Afterwards walk through the village with the huge unfinished Pathodawgyi Pagoda. Then the world’s largest ringing bell, produced in 1790, awaits you with the Sin Phyu Me. This stupa reflects the mythical Hindu Mountain Meru. The way back to the jetty at the village will be done by oxcart, a traditional way of transport. Relax and enjoy the scenic cruise back to Mandalay. The rest of the afternoon is at your leisure.
In the morning transfer to the airport for the flight to Heho in the Shan state. Upon arrival enjoy the relaxed drive through the picturesque countryside direction Inle Lake. There are a few stops on the way for taking photos and to visit the wooden Shwe Yan Pyay Monastery. After arriving at the pier, transfer by boat to the hotel.
In the early afternoon you can watch the fishermen and the floating gardens during the boat ride. The gardens are made of chopped water hyacinth and mud, anchored with bamboo poles on the bottom of the lake. Visit a floating village at the center of the lake where five times a week a floating market is held. Then visit the Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the weaving village of Inn Paw Khone and the beautiful old Buddha statue at Nga Phe Kyaung Monastery. Return to the hotel for overnight.
In the morning transfer by boat to the pier, drive to the airport and fly back to Yangon. Upon arrival transfer to the hotel. The tour guide picks you up and shows the famous Sule Pagoda. Opportunity to let your future been foretold by a fortune teller. On the way to Mahabandoola Park you can admire some of the well preserved colonial buildings. Continue along the Pansodan Street to the river and further on to the Victorian-style Strand Hotel. It is a good place for some refreshments before heading to the Merchant Street for another stop at a Burmese tea shop. The guide will escort you after to a restaurant of your choice where you can have lunch.
In the afternoon visit the 65 meter long reclining Buddha at the Chaukhtatkyi Pagoda. Then head for a stroll through the Bogyoke Aung San market. It is also called Scott Market and has numerous shops, selling all kinds of handicrafts. The last place to visit is the Kandawgyi Park. Enjoy a fantastic sunset, with the outstanding Shwedagon reflecting in the water of the lake. Transfer to your hotel or to a restaurant of your choice.
After breakfast at the hotel transfer to Yangon Central Station. You board the Circular Train. During the next hour you can get a good glimpse at the daily life of the locals. It takes you from the city center to the rural area where farmers can be seen doing their work. After one third of the full round trip you disembark and visit a lively fresh food market. The tour continues by car to the Kalaywa Monastery, home to almost 2,000 monks. Before the final transfer to the airport, the guide will escort you to a restaurant of your choice for lunch.
