This short round trip reveals the astonishing sights of the central plains, away from the usual travelling paths. Explore the amazing landscapes of Thailand’s most western province Kanchanaburi. Experience the traditional way of life along the northern border of Central Thailand in Uthai Thani. Discover the dense jungle on the border to Thailand’s northeastern region at the UNESCO World Heritage Site Khao Yai.
In the early morning pick up at the hotel in Bangkok and drive along the Gulf Coast to the west. Stop at the salt fields of the province Samut Sakhon. Visit of the traditional floating market in Damnoen Saduak. Lunch at a local restaurant. Afterwards explore the Erawan National Park with the impressive seven-tier waterfall. Drive to the historical Hellfire Pass where during World War II a railway line was built to Burma by prisoners of war. Continue the tour by long tail boat on the Kwai River along the virgin jungle to the floating hotel. Overnight at the unique raft hotel, surrounded by dense rainforest. After dinner enjoy a performance of traditional Mon dances.
After breakfast explore the nearby Mon village. Return to the resort and boat ride back to the car. Spend some time at the Sai Yok Noi Waterfall. Afterwards visit the historical railway bridge over the River Kwai. Lunch on the way to Uthai Thani. Before reaching the provincial capital enjoy the beautiful view over the idyllic countryside from a mountain temple. Continue to Uthai Thani and visit Wat Ta Sung. It is one of Thailand’s largest meditation centers. The interior of the main temple hall is covered with mirrors. Afterwards cruise along the Sakae Krang River in an old rice barge. Discover the river and the traditional way of life. Drive to the resort and check-in. Dinner with a beautiful view over the lake.
After breakfast in the resort drive to Lopburi. Visit the ancient Khmer temple, home to hundreds of small monkeys. Continue to Khao Yai National Park and stop at a view point. Lunch at a local restaurant by the National Park’s visitor center. Afterwards a local ranger leads a trek along a small river surrounded by dense tropical vegetation. Chance to see some of the wildlife such as Great Hornbill birds, lizards and Gibbons. On the way you pass the Orchid Cliff Waterfall bounded by a large number of wild orchids. Visit Haew Suwat Waterfall. Drive and short walk to the 1,119 meter high Pha Deaw Dai plateau. Enjoy the panoramic view over nearby valleys and mountain ranges covered with evergreen forest. Drive on the winding road to an observation tower. Afterwards transfer to the resort with check in.
After breakfast relax at the resort and enjoy the fresh clean air. Early afternoon return to the airport or your hotel in Bangkok.
With a surcharge, the tour can end on the island of Koh Chang or Koh Samed.
