Pick up from the airport in Bangkok and transfer to the Hotel. The next days are at your leisure. Explore the magnificent temples and relicts. Discover the bustling Chinatown, the modern shopping malls and relax in idyllic parks.
In the early morning pick up at the hotel in Bangkok and drive along the Gulf Coast to the west. Stop at the salt fields of the province Samut Sakhon. Visit of the traditional floating market in Damnoen Saduak. Lunch at a local restaurant. Afterwards explore the Erawan National Park with the impressive seven-tier waterfall. Drive to the historical Hellfire Pass where during World War II a railway line was built to Burma by prisoners of war. Continue the tour by long tail boat on the Kwai River along the virgin jungle to the floating hotel. Overnight at the unique raft hotel, surrounded by dense rainforest. After dinner enjoy a performance of traditional Mon dances.
After breakfast return by boat to the waiting car. Drive towards the ancient capital Ayutthaya. Visit Wat Phanang Choen with its huge seated Buddha and the large Chedi of Wat Yai Chai-Mongkol. Lunch at a local restaurant. Drive along rice fields and plantations to Singburi. Visit a local temple whose surrounding trees are home to giant bats. Continue to Uthai Thani. Cruise along the Sakae Krang River in an old rice barge. Discover the river and the traditional way of life. Drive to the resort and check-in. Dinner with a beautiful view over the lake.
After breakfast drive to Phitsanulok. Visit Phra Si Rattana Mahathat, known as Wat Yai. The temple houses the statue of Phra Buddha Chinnarat, one of the most beautiful Buddha images in Thailand. Afterwards visit a nearby Buddha statue factory. Lunch at a local Restaurant. Drive to Thailand’s first capital Sukhothai. Visit the historical park, an UNESCO world heritage site. Explore its impressive temple complexes, palace buildings and Buddha sculptures. Continue to Lampang, the gate way to the most northern provinces. Enjoy a horse carriage ride through the old town. Admire the Wat Si Chum temple with its carved teakwood pillars and ceilings. Transfer to the resort with check in.
After breakfast at the resort drive towards Phayao. Stop at Thailand’s biggest lake. Continue to the famous Golden Triangle where the borders of Thailand, Laos and Myanmar meet. Lunch at a local restaurant. Afterwards enjoy a boat trip on the mighty Mekong River along impressive sandbanks. On the way stop at a small Laotian village. Afterwards visit the interesting Opium Museum. Drive to the border town of Mae Sai, the northernmost point of Thailand. Explore the huge market. Transfer to Chiang Rai and check in at the hotel.
After breakfast drive to the elephant camp north of Chiang Mai. During an interesting show the elephants perform some forestry tasks. Enjoy an elephant trek through the forest. Afterwards rafting on the nearby river. Continue to one of Chiang Mai’s many orchid farms. Lunch at the farm and time to admire the beautiful flowers. Return to the city. Late afternoon transfer to the train station in Chiang Mai. Overnight train journey to Bangkok in second-class air-conditioned sleeping bed carriage.
In the morning pick up from the train station in Bangkok. Transfer by car/ferry to Koh Chang. Check in at your resort.
On the second day after arrival pick up in the morning from your resort. Boat excursion through the Koh Chang Marine National Park, including snorkeling and lunch.
The following days are at your leisure. Relax at the beautiful beaches, swim in the clear water or explore the interior of Thailand’s second biggest islands.
